Scott Free & The Contaminator
Disgusted by a comment where a Goddess was explained to be curves and ass by a male artist, The Contaminator decided she wanted to visually open the lid on the "Dirty Goddess" which is inspired by the words of Clarissa Pinkola Estés's "Women Who Run with the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype".
Since 2022, Scott Free and The Contaminator have been chasing The True Goddess archetype (which is often buried in old folklore). and have been creating performative portraits of The Contaminator's raw goddess channels.
Inside the photos are one-time live performances by The Contaminator demonstrating The Goddess's evolution of primitive features (claws, fangs, etc) previously in history known as useful tools of survival that have now been transformed as evil, ending in a hanging death like many of the innocent "witches" during many false global witch trials.
The chaotic installation of The Contaminator's old worn drawings represents The Goddess's internal emotions, misrepresentations, struggles, and confusion about wielding such abused power.
The Goddesses captured in various curated and raw locations by Scott Free of The Contaminator hang by a wire and lay over the rips and tears of many artworks that have been also mishandled and underappreciated due to their raw power.
The repeated fear of The Goddess's power has now descended to human women. By healing these damaged roots, we can heal this blurred separation between "Evil" and "Power" that has framed many women's intentions.
