“Identity Mapping” is an ongoing series consisting of disfigured analog self-portraits repurposed as collage pieces. The series is concerned with a longing for a complete self, provoked by the existential displacement inherent in a monoparental upbringing, as well as a state of mind marked by opposite extremes. The accumulation of anti-portraits depicts a disjointed merging of person and place while deconstructing the photographic medium itself.
